Chrysler and its bankruptcy have been in the news for the past few weeks, raising all kinds of questions about the future of the company and its customers. Since Chrysler has officially been bought out by Fiat, the new company cannot be held responsible for any defects of existing products, or injuries caused by defective Chrysler products.

The reason given by the company about Chrysler dealership closings is low sales at those dealerships on the closure list. The company noted that 50% of its dealers provide nearly 90% of its sales.

Shanghai, May 11 (Gasgoo.com) Chrysler LLC said a statement today that its global operations, including those in China, won't be affected by the company's bankruptcy proceedings in the U.S., Dow Jones reported.

While Fiat is already in the process of acquiring U.S. automaker Chrysler LLC, it acknowledged on Sunday that it is also looking to expand its reach to include GM's European operations.

As talks with creditors aimed at reducing its huge debt burden have failed, Chrysler will file for bankruptcy protection, officials said on Thursday.

In February, the Obama administration rejected Chrysler's restructuring plan and gave it until April 30 to cut a deal with Fiat. Mere days before the deadline, and facing rumors of a Ch. 11 filing, the UAW has reached an accord with Chrysler and Fiat.
