According to NBC Universal's former Chief Executive Bob Wright, the purchase of NBC Universal by Comcast will take some time, but is likely to be successful.

A senior portfolio manager from AIM Charter fund Ron Sloan tells CNBC that despite consumer products being bitten down, some consumer stocks should be kept in radar. He talked about the growth opportunities of Hasbro, H&R Block and Comcast with CNBC's correspondent this morning.

You'll recall that despite its recently-filed lawsuit against the FCC over P2P-throttling practices, Comcast agreed it would still detail its network management policies to the organization, as originally ordered. On Friday Comcast provided that documentation to the FCC.

Late Friday I received an emailed press release from Jen Howard of Free Press. You may recall that last year, both the AP and Electronic Frontier Foundation confirmed through tests that Comcast was throttling P2P communication, which eventually led to a months-long FCC investigation, launched in response to filings by Free Press and members of the SavetheInternet.com Coalition.

In December of last year, Comcast stated it would start rolling out 100 Mbps service this year with 20% of homes DOCSIS 3.0-capable by the end of 2008. Earlier this year, it also started to offer a new "extreme high-speed" 50 Mbps tier in Minneapolis/St. Paul.

You'll recall earlier I wrote about Comcast's new collaboration with BitTorrent. More interesting to me however, was that in that same statement Comcast also indicated they were changing their policy on throttling.
