George Frideric Handel's Agrippina will be performed in Virginia for the first time ever when Virginia Opera raises the curtain on its premiere production Jan. 26, featuring a talented and attractive cast in a staging designed to truly capture the spirit of Handel's satirically comedic work.

This spring, Opera New England (ONE), BLO's education and community programs division, presents a one-hour version of Rossini's comic masterpiece, The Barber of Seville. The onehour, fully staged version of this great opera will be sung in English and performed for students and family audiences throughout New England.

Mum's the Word - the smash hit, tell-it-like-it-is comedy about the trials and tribulations of having children, comes to the Grand Theatre, Blackpool this February 12th.

Opera Colorado continues the 2006-2007 grand opera season with Gaetano Donizetti's romantic comedy, The Elixir of Love, running for five performances, February 9, 11, 14, 16, 18. Utah Opera will present its premiere of Richard Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos in the Capitol Theatre on January 13, 15, 17, and 19 at 7:30 pm and January 21 at 2:00 pm. At an extravagant estate, a composer of the evening's opera is falling for the star of the evening's comedy.

Seattle Symphony presents legendary comedian Bill Cosby for two shows on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 4 and 8 p.m. Both performances will take place in the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium at Benaroya Hall.
