A panel of judges appointed by the Evansville Philharmonic selected winners for the orchestra's 51st Annual Young Artist Competition held at the Victory Theatre in downtown Evansville. Seventeen talented instrumental musicians (violin, string bass, piano, piccolo, French horn and trombone) throughout the tri-State area in grades 6-12 competed. Top three prizes were awarded.

The Imperial Symphony Orchestra's annual young artist competition gives talented young musicians an opportunity to perform on stage with the Orchestra. Seventeen talented young artists of ages 16-20 competed on Saturday, January 6 in the Anne MacGregor Recital Hall at Florida Southern College.

The Harrisburg Symphony and Messiah College are pleased to announce the winners of the inaugural "Rodney and Lorna Sawatsky Rising Stars Concerto Competition" held on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Messiah College in Grantham, Pa. The Grand Prize winner received a $50,000 music scholarship.

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today announced that First Soloist Keiichi Hirano and Second Soloist Bridgett Zehr will represent the company at The Seventh International Competition for The Erik Bruhn Prize on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 7:30 pm in the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Former Principal Dancers Veronica Tennant and Rex Harrington will host the event.
