The Constitutional Court of Germany has today suspended the process of ratification of the Lisbon Treaty, calling for a law guaranteeing the rights of the German Parliament. The constitutional judges have confirmed that the Treaty was "compatible with the Basic Law (the German Constitution), but they felt that the parameters were still lacking.
