Expressions 2008: Art by DC Youth will showcase the art and creativity of young people involved in the award-winning Corcoran ArtReach program. ArtReach extends the resources of the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design to DC communities through free after-school and summer art classes.

The Board of Trustees and the Women's Committee of the Corcoran Gallery of Art present the 53rd annual Corcoran Ball. More than 1,000 guests are expected to attend this elegant and festive event. Attendees of this year's Ball will enjoy the Corcoran's special exhibition, The American Evolution: A History through Art, on view through July 27, 2008.

Aspiring artists will capture the flowering of Washington’s cherry trees at three Drawing from Cherry Blossoms workshops led by Corcoran College of Art + Design faculty members.

This spring, the long-awaited re-installation of the Corcoran Gallery of Art's world-renowned collection of American art will open in a special exhibition, The American Evolution: A History through Art. A fresh look at the Corcoran's extensive American holdings, the exhibition showcases more than 200 objects in a wide range of media, dating from the colonial era to present day. The American Evolution will open on March 1 and remain on view until July 27, 2008.

The Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. announces its 2008 exhibition schedule will include, Richard Avedon: Portraits of Power, on view from September 13, 2008 to January 25, 2009.

On Saturday, Feb. 2, the Corcoran will celebrate Groundhog Day for the first time with three new art workshops for kids: Art of the Pennsylvania Dutch, Natural Time, and Drawing Shadows. Designed for specific age groups, each workshop will meet from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Corcoran Gallery of Art.

This fall, the Corcoran Gallery of Art will present an internationally touring exhibition of works by celebrated photographer Annie Leibovitz. This special exhibition, Annie Leibovitz: A Photographer's Life, 1990–2005includes more than 200 photographs, featuring well-known work made on editorial assignment, as well as personal photographs of her family and close friends.

Opening September 15 at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Ansel Adams will give visitors a new look at the work of this important and influential artist through more than 125 images on loan from The Lane Collection—the largest private collection of works by Adams in existence.
