American Dance Institute is bringing home Patrick Corbin and his critically-acclaimed, New York-based dance company, CorbinDances. The company has performed nationally and on October 3rd at 8:00 p.m. and October 4th at 3:00 p.m., CorbinDances will grace the stage at ADI, in its founder’s hometown. Patrick was born and raised in Potomac, Maryland, and after years of studying and performing with the world’s most renowned companies he launched CorbinDances

American Dance Institute (ADI) invites residents to liven up their Sunday afternoons and spend time with friends and family at the fourth annual Family Arts Day. ADI has organized an action-packed afternoon full of local arts and cultural activities to bring together the community. Come and enjoy a free afternoon of exciting performances, interactive classes and demos, a book signing, live music and more. Family Arts Day is on Sunday, September 27th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A couple, Jill and Kevin Heinz (hence JK), who decided, mostly due to the wishes of the bride, to dance not at the wedding reception, but into the wedding ceremony, has had the YouTube video version go viral. The couple and wedding party boogied their way down the aisle on their wedding day.

The Walker Art Center and Southern Theater present the annual Momentum: New Dance Works series, two weekends of premieres by the freshest talents in Minnesota dance, on Thursday–Saturday, July 16–18 and 23–25, at 7:30 pm on Thursday and 8 pm on Friday and Saturday, at the Southern Theater.

The Barbican has announced its summer and autumn programme for 2009. Major new initiatives include developing long term relationships with visiting orchestras, a new summer season of music and dance stretching out in to East London and a new co-commissioned work from choreographer Michael Clark.

DanceEast's Spiegeltent Tour will be the first of its kind in East Anglia. This large, beautiful wooden construction features a dazzling interior of mirrored booths surrounding a wooden dance floor, creating the perfect intimate space for dance performances, workshops and classes.

University of California, Irvine Extension, along with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), join together to present “National Choreographers Initiative” featuring Molly Lynch, assistant professor of dance at UCI. Lynch will show clips of new choreography created and preformed in the unique project at the Barclay Theatre each summer. The clips will showcase the work of four outstanding choreographers and sixteen professional dancers.

DanceEast introduces Canadian dancer/choreographer Melanie Demers, whose work has already been taking European audiences by storm.

Dance Camera West's annual festival, recognized as one of the world’s foremost celebrations of dance on film, announces the Dance Camera West Eighth Annual Dance Media Film Festival screening at venues throughout southern California in June 2009.
