Dance Camera West, internationally recognized as one of the foremost dance film festivals devoted to the art of “dance made for the screen,” announces its seventh annual month-long festival, hitting venues throughout southern California in June 2008. This film festival, which features dance media in all forms, is a unique cinematic experience that focuses on the intersection of cinematography and choreography.

MAD HOT II, The National Ballet of Canada’s annual fundraising gala, returns on June 17, 2008 to Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. The National Post hailed last year’s MAD HOT as “the best gala” and The Globe and Mail named it the “best fundraising event” of 2007.

The National Ballet of Canada’s summer mixed programme opens on June 13 and includes Alberta Ballet’s The Fiddle and The Drum, presented at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts as part of Toronto's second annual Luminato – Toronto Festival of Arts & Creativity. Also on the programme are the second detail & Etudes & Five Brahms Waltzes in the Manner of Isadora Duncan.

Birmingham Royal Ballet's summer season 2008 continues with David Bintley and Galina Samsova's production of Giselle. After an absence of almost five years, the full-length ballet returns to the Hippodrome stage from 25 - 28 June 2008. The triple bill Stravinsky: the real deal, celebrates the music of the great ballet composer and consists of three contrasting works.

Pennsylvania Ballet has been invited to perform at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as part of its Ballet Across America series, on JUNE 10-11, 2008. Nine companies will perform in 3 mixed repertory programs designed to showcase the ballet spirit of the United States.
