Victoria Theatre Association has announced the lineup for the second season of the new Universal 1 Variety Series at the Victoria Theatre. The 2008-2009 season brings the popular Off-Broadway hit Alter Boyz to Dayton, along with mentalist Craig Karges and the cutting-edge rhymes of Mayhem Poets.

Continuing the tradition of fun family entertainment in the historic Victoria Theatre, Victoria Theatre Association has announced the lineup for the 2008-2009 Young at Heart Family Series. The five shows include high-kicking fun with a local dance troupe, country western charm with your favorite cowboy crooners, internationally renowned acrobats, a two-man comedic circus act and a new storybook treasure.

On Wednesday, May 7, the Schuster Center will be the scene of festivities celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. In celebration, the concerts will feature the works of DPO Founder Paul Katz, Domenico Cimarosa, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Richard Strauss. The Miriam Rosenthal Memorial Trust Fund is the concert sponsor.

On Wednesday evening, April 16 at 6:30 pm and again on Thursday morning, April 17 at 10:00 am, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Music Director Neal Gittleman will host the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Principal Quartet and DPO Principal Clarinetist John Kurokawa in The Classical Era, a concert of chamber works by Ludwig von Beethoven and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

On Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 8 pm in the Schuster Center, guest conductor Larry Rachleff will lead the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra in Life's Treasures, a program of music that celebrates life and its most simple, fulfilling rewards.

Victoria Theatre Association has announced its 2008-2009 Chase Broadway Series, which includes four recent Broadway hits, a spectacular multi-media tribute show and an all-new production of a classic thriller.

On Tuesday, February 26, at 9:30 am and 11:00 am at the Schuster Center, Music Director Neal Gittleman and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will present the DPO's tenth annual High School Concert, Time Marches On. This concert is specifically designed for teenage audiences (Grades 7-12) and is planned to link to Language Arts and Social Studies curriculum.

Richard Loring's African Footprint tells the vibrant and diverse history of South Africa through a breathtaking blend of Afro- and Euro-centric music and dance. The hypnotic heartbeat of the African drum, the soulful saxophone, and the haunting pennywhistle come together as centuries of music and dance meld into an explosive celebration of life, liberty and love.

As part of the African-American Arts Festival, Victoria Theatre Association will present the tribute to the Harlem Renaissance, Jasmine Guy in Raisin' Cane with the Avery Sharpe Jazz Trio, at the Victoria Theatre on February 15.

In honor and celebration of Black History Month, Victoria Theatre Association will present its first African-American Arts Festival, continuing throughout the month of February.

As part of Victoria Theatre Association's African-American Arts Festival, and in partnership with the University of Dayton's Diversity Lecture Series, An Evening with Spike Lee will be presented at the Schuster Center, February 18.
