Dell has emailed Employee Purchase Plan participants news on a Black Friday preview sale. The DealZ are pretty good, and as we said last time we spoke of Dell's EPP program, anyone can participate, as they don't police it (more on that later).

Dell has sent out an email to their Employee Purchase Plan (EPP) customers, previewing its EPP Black Friday sale. Employee Purchase Plan members are those who have special memberships through their school, work, or other agency, but there is a slight loophole in the way Dell does things with EPP accounts (more on this later).

Dell's first Android smartphone, the Dell Mini 3, was officially announced by the company on Friday. Surprisingly, the company added that the device will first appear in China (China Mobile or CMCC) and Brazil (Claro).

Looking to expand beyond its PC business, Dell is set to purchase Perot Systems Corporation for approximately $3.9 billion. The terms of the agreement were approved yesterday by the boards of directors of both companies. Dell said it expects to close the deal in the November-January quarter.

Dell and Allin Corporation announced today that Dell has acquired Microsoft IT consulting and solutions segments of Allin for $12 million in a stock purchase agreement.

According to Gartner Inc.'s preliminary Q3 report on worldwide PC shipments, Apple's U.S. market share has nearly reached double-digits, at 9.5%, up from 7.7% last year (a 29.4% increase). Meanwhile, worldwide shipments reached 80.6 million units in the quarter, a 15% increase from last year.
