LG Electronics, a leader in consumer electronics and mobile communications, has announced the opening of its new European Design Centre in Covent Garden, London, UK. The facilities were formally opened by HRH Prince Andrew, The Duke of York, in a ceremony attended by leading members of local government and the UK’s design community.

Nokia has opened a satellite design studio in Rio de Janeiro reflecting the increasing impact Latin American style and culture is expected to have on the future design of mobile devices and services.

A year-long series of the Nissan Design Forum & 'Imagination Factory' Exhibition in Asia came to an end on December 16th in its final destination, Hong Kong.

The Nissan Design Forum & Exhibition, jointly organized by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd and Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) kicks off today at the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Malaysia. It will be opened for attendance by the public on Aug 4 and 5 2007.

The international INDEX: jury has short-listed 110 designs for INDEX: AWARD, the biggest design award in the world, which is presented on 24 August under the patronage of HRH The Crown Prince of Denmark.
