Wachovia Preferred Funding Corp. (NYSE: WNAPr) announced today that its board of directors has declared a regular quarterly dividend on its Series A 7.25% preferred securities. The dividend is equal to $0.453125 per Series A security.

Fannie Mae posted a net loss of $2.3 billion, excluding preferred dividend payments, and said it would slash its dividend by 85 percent.

According to the Wall Street Journal, more and more companies that issued PIK toggle bonds during the private equity boom are opting to pay investors more debt rather than interest. For those unfamiliar with PIK toggles, it is debt issued with the option to substitute interest payments for more debt.

Pershing Square Capital Management's founder Bill Ackman told regulators in a letter today that the two biggest U.S. bond insurers face combined losses of over $23 billion from bonds they've insured, and should be forced to stop paying dividends.

Microsoft Corp. announced that its board of directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.11 per share. The dividend is payable March 13, 2008 to shareholders of record on February 21, 2008. The ex-dividend date will be February 19, 2008.

NVIDIA Corporation announced that its Board of Directors has approved a three-for-two stock split of the Company’s outstanding shares of common stock to be effected in the form of a stock dividend. Cash will be paid in lieu of fractional shares.

General Motors Corp. today announced a third-quarter dividend of $0.25 per share on GM common stock. The dividend is payable September 10, 2007, to holders of record as of August 17, 2007. The dividend is unchanged from the previous quarter.

American Home Mortgage Investment Corp. (NYSE: AHM) announced today that its Board of Directors has decided to delay payment of its quarterly cash dividend on the Company's common stock and anticipates delaying payment of its quarterly cash dividends on its Series A Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock and Series B Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock.
