Dongfeng Nissan, a joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Corp and Japan’s Nissan Motor Co, celebrated its 1millionth car rollout recently in its passenger vehicle factory located at Huadu district, Guangzhou, said Nanfang Daily yesterday. The 1millionth car, X-Trail, is Nissan's latest SUV model which will go on sale in China in October.

Dongfeng Nissan, a joint venture between Nissan Motor Co and Dongfeng Motor Corp, will develop a C-platform sedan in its own research and development (R&D) center by 2012, Dongfeng Nissan vice general manager Ren Yong said to Beijing Times on September 19.

Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co., Ltd. (DPCA) will soon complete construction of Platform 3 in its second facility, which is expected to make new Peugeot and Citroen models, including Peugeot 407 and 607, said xinhuanet.com today, citing a top executive of the joint venture.

Earlier this month, Dongfeng Motor said it plans to spend 200 million yuan ($29.19 million) building an auto parts remanufacturing trial base, according to Beijing Times today.

China’s third largest automaker Dongfeng Motor Group announced that its first independent brand sedan, called Dongfeng BF, will roll off line in the company’s passenger car plant in Wuhan by the end of this year and the new model will be launched to the market in the first half of 2009, said Yao Rui, general manager of Hunan Dongfeng Automobile Sales Service Co. to Xiaoxiang Morning Herald on August 28.

Nissan and Dongfeng announced today that they will reinforce their light commercial vehicle (LCV) business in the Chinese market through the joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Company Limited.
