Filing day began today as hundreds of Illinois politicians lined up to to file for the February primary election and get a chance to be listed on the ballot. One of the more significant races is the 2010 Gubernatorial campaign, which will feature a host of well known Illinois leaders vying for the top executive spot.

Despite earlier calling for an investigation into Iran's presidential election, Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Friday indicated that the vote had not been rigged, warning protesters to halt massive demonstrations.

A senior ally of Mir Hossein Mousavi said the moderate candidate was set to defeat current President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as polls remained open later to allow citizens to vote.

You may recall Barack Obama was hung in effigy at a Christian university. In that case, it appears the hanging was somewhat racially based, as a sign reading "Act Six reject" was taped to the effigy. Act Six is a scholarship program run by the college granted to 10 student leaders from urban Portland. In this case, it's all about Halloween.
