Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire, the historic site of secret British code breaking activities during World War Two and the birthplace of the modern computer, has unveiled a specially-commissioned limited edition of 50 blue and gold Fabergé Enigma Eggs to help raise much needed funds to maintain this historically important site.

The Kresge Foundation, one of the largest foundations in the US has awarded a $750,000 (410,000 GBP) challenge grant which recognises the remarkable range of support Opera North has generated to enable the redevelopment of Leeds Grand Theatre and the creation of a permanent home for Opera North.

Leeds-based Opera North has won the prestigious South Bank Show Award for Opera against stiff competition from English National Opera and The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, with its thrilling new production of Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes, directed by Phyllida Lloyd.
