Two suspects were arrested after threats resulted in a lockdown of the University of South Florida campus. The campus lockdown has since been lifted, but one of the two suspects is still in custody in the USF gunman case.

People waiting in lines to renew their Florida driver license or vehicle registrations had to wait for well over an hour all day long on Monday. The Florida DMV website, Go Renew, which allows for online renewal crashed due to the high traffic of people trying to beat the long lines at the DMV offices. The reason behind the rush for all of these renewals is that fees for tags, vehicle registrations and driver license all go up on Tuesday, September 1st.

What better way to catch fugitives then to have them come to you? That is exactly what happened in Florida when 75 fugitives were arrested as part of a stimulus money sting operation. The Florida stimulus money sting lured the fugitive to Fort Lauderdale police on the promise that the fugitives would receive stimulus money.

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist on Friday appointed his former chief of staff George LeMieux to occupy the bench for the state of Florida in the U.S. Senate vacated by resigning Cuban-born Sen. Mel Martinez, said the governor. Earlier this morning the word was already traveling and sources close to Florida Governor Charlie Crist today assured the Americas Journal that he would appoint his former chief of staff George LeMieux.
