FORT WORTH – Fort Worth Opera announces that it will produce a world premiere opera as part of its 2010 Festival. The opera, Before Night Falls, is by Jorge Martín, a Cuban-American composer relatively new to the operatic stage; Before Night Falls will be his first major world premiere.

Fort Worth Opera Will Continue Festival Format

Fort Worth Opera announced that it will continue the festival format for the 2008 Season in Bass Hall and that it will add a fourth production to be performed at the Scott Theatre, a small, 481-seat theatre located in the Arts District of Fort Worth. Fort Worth Opera revamped its format in 2007, from a fall/winter schedule to a four-week festival held in May-June.

Fort Worth Opera Offers Child Care Festival

Fort Worth Opera announced that it will offer complimentary child care during its opera performances for the inaugural 2007 Festival. The service will be available for Friday and Saturday evening performances and will be complimentary for all season ticket holders with children from 6 months to 11-years-old.
