Two new galleries put New Zealand on the international design map - When the ENCOUNTER and LANDMARKS galleries open at Auckland War Memorial Museum a significant collection of New Zealand and International design will have its first dedicated home; rivaling the very best international design galleries from the world's biggest cities.

Corcoran Purchases the Randall School property in Southwest Washington from the DC Government for $6.2 million.

The Corcoran Gallery of Art presents Joan of Arc, an exhibition that celebrates the cultural legacy of the French medieval heroine Joan of Arc (c. 1412-1431). Her extraordinary life has inspired generations of writers and artists, and her image has been used for centuries to promote a variety of political, cultural and religious views.

This spring, the Corcoran Gallery of Art will host the critically acclaimed exhibition, Modernism: Designing a New World 1914-1939, from March 17 through July 29, 2007. It is the largest and most comprehensive exhibition on Modernism to be staged in the United States to date and was originally organized by London's Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). In fact, the Corcoran will be the show's only American venue, following its installation at the V&A and MARTa Herford in Germany.

A spectacular "museum-within-the-museum" for the display of its extraordinary collection of Hellenistic, Etruscan, South Italian, and Roman art - much of it unseen in New York for generations - will open at The Metropolitan Museum of Art this April in its New Greek and Roman Galleries.

A one-hour film of the concert "Angel Orensanz. Dance of Fear" will be shown daily at the Foundation, starting December 6, 2006. This opening marks a significant development in the career of Angel Orensanz. "Angel Orensanz. Dance of Fear" was recently a huge concert success at the National Conservatory of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. In the film, we see Yan Leus conducting the Georgian National Orchestra in his own compositions to a rapturous audience.
