Rhode Island has recently experienced an increase in Norovirus infection. This spike in Norovirus infection occurs every year around this time. Norovirus causes short-term, gastro-intestinal illness, sometimes referred to as "stomach flu"Â (this is NOT the same infection as influenza) .
