The “Golden Apricot on Wheels” project within the “Golden Apricot” International Film Festival for the second time visited Nagorno Karabakh in August 19-23 this year. The Nagorno Karabakh “Golden Apricot” opened with Sergey Parajanov’s “The Color of Pomegranate” in the House of Veterans, located in Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno Karabakh.

Yerevan today gave the start of the sixth Golden Apricot International Film Festival. Movie makers from 65 countries had sent their films to Armenia for the participation in this festival. Only 110 movies from 450 applications will be screened in Armenia this time during the Festival.

This year "Golden Apricot" film festival dedicates one of its anniversary programs to Armenian American writer William Saroyan’s 100 anniversary. Golden Apricot international movie festival will take place in Yerevan, Armenia July 13-20.

Since 2005 “Golden Apricot” Film Festival has been functioning under the aegis of the European Cultural Parliament. The Council of Europe, in cooperation with Ministry of Culture of Armenia, has initiated “The film as a means for intercultural dialog” conference within the “Golden Apricot” 5-th International Film Festival July 13-20.

Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival President Atom Egoyan was awarded the 34th Ecumenical Jury Prize for the humanistic values they discovered in Adoration, a film that explores cultural intolerance and misinformation.

For the first time a French Film Festival will be held within the framework of the Golden Apricot International Film Festival to be held July 9-14 in Armenia's capital city, Yerevan.
