Goodman Theatre welcomes director Harris Yulin and actor Lois Smith as they team up for The Trip to Bountiful, Horton Foote's beloved 1953 play featuring Hallie Foote and Devon Abner—Foote's eldest daughter and son-in-law, respectively-and Meghan Andrews.

For 30 years, Goodman Theatre has proudly made A Christmas Carol a Chicago holiday institution-host of seven Scrooges, 27 Tiny Tims, over 17,000 "Bah Humbug!"s, and featured such notables as Del Close, Harry J. Lennix, Felicia P. Fields, Raul Esparza, Sally Murphy and Frank Galati. During the celebratory season, the one millionth ticket will be purchased, and its lucky bearer will receive a special surprise at the Box Office upon ticket pick-up.

Take home a piece of Goodman history—and help the theater clear its shop for the coming season—at the Costume Sale on Saturday October 20, from 9 am - 2 pm in the Goodman lobby.

Using the themes of Sarah Ruhl's Passion Play: a cycle in three parts as a springboard, Goodman Theatre and Illinois Humanities Council's The Public Square present a panel discussion entitled Myth of Separation: Politics, Religion and Secular Space.

Kicking off the 2007/2008 season in the Goodman's Owen Theatre is Eduardo Machado's The Cook, a sweeping look at four decades of Cuban history refracted through one woman's perspective. Resident Artistic Associate Henry Godinez directs a cast of noted Chicago actors including Karen Aldridge (Proof), Edward F. Torres (Massacre) and Phillip James Brannon (Oedipus Complex).

Six brand new plays from a handful of American theater's most dynamic playwrights will be presented at Goodman Theatre's 2007 New Stages Series September 28 - October 7, 2007. The free series of script-in-hand staged readings takes place in the Goodman's Owen Theatre and is open to the public. Reservations are required, limited to eight per household, per event.

Goodman Theatre launches its 2007/2008 season with Passion Play: a cycle in three parts, a "startlingly original" theatrical event by Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright Sarah Ruhl. British director, actor and teacher Mark Wing-Davey helms this triptych which addresses the thorny relationship between politics and religion, lust and dogma-and perception and reality-over 425 years and three controversial, politically-charged eras.

Goodman Theatre presents the Red & Black Ball at the Fairmont Hotel on Saturday, May 19, 2007, an evening of cocktails, celebrity entertainment, dinner and dancing to live music performed by Lynne Jordan and the Shivers.
