As Google prepares to launch Street View in the U.K., and has already launched it in France, concerns over privacy have been raised by the group Privacy International, which says it feels Street View violates privacy laws.

What won't Google do with its maps? Tuesday, if you went to Google Maps, you would have found a "More" button between the "Map" and "Traffic" buttons. Click on it, and you can, as you see to the left, tick checkboxes labeled "Photos" or "Wikipedia."

Ever wish you could get a view of possible landmarks when getting directions from a mapping site or program? I do. After all, I usually do better with "look for that Chevron station" hints. Well, Google's heard your plea, and has added Street View to directions in Google Maps.

A couple of months ago, Google's web mapping service GOOGLE MAPS launched a new feature: Google Street View. A panoramic street level environment lets you descend from the sky and virtually travel through the streets. However, some very funny Google Street View images have surfaced on the internet raising privacy issues.

Google Street View caused a great deal of consternation over privacy as soon as it was introduced last May. And the military has even shut out Google Street View researchers from its bases. So, as the first lawsuit over Street View is filed, I can only ask: what took so long?

Starting August 21, Google Maps users can add a map to their website or blog just by copying & pasting a snippet of HTML.

Google maps adds new feature called 'street views' and has been named by some as "Google street maps." The "street views" right now are only available in five areas: Denver, Las Vegas, New York, San Francisco, and parts of Florida.
