After an interminable (not really, but it was sort of ridiculous how people reacted to the delay) wait, the Google Mobile App for iPhone with new voice recognition features showed up on the App Store. Strangely, at first it displayed the version number of the old version, though if you tried to download it, you would get the new version.

Earlier we, and many others, showed a great deal of excitement over the new version of Google's search app for the iPhone. The new, voice-enhanced Google Mobile App was supposed to be updated Friday, according to the New York Times. But, uh, it never showed up.

Google is using its intelligence in search data to create a flu tracker. The Google Flu Trends will use aggregated Google search data that will estimate flu activity in your state up to 2 weeks sooner than the traditional flu surveillance systems.

Microsoft has done a deal with Sun where its search toolbar is distributed with the Java runtime. The deal only applies to US Internet Explorer users who download the JRE. Previously Sun distributed the Google toolbar with Java.
