Qualcomm Incorporated and AMD announced that Qualcomm has acquired certain graphics and multimedia technology assets, intellectual property and resources that were formerly the basis of AMD’s handheld business.

It was announced AMD was extending its visual computing leadership with the first availability of products that conform to the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) first DisplayPort™ certification. The certification has been awarded to the ATI Radeon™ HD 3400, ATI Radeon™ HD 3600, ATI Radeon™ HD 3800, ATI FireMV™ 2260 graphics products, and the AMD 780G integrated graphics chipset1 .
