L-3 Communications announced today that its L-3 Integrated Systems (L-3 IS) subsidiary has been awarded a follow-on contract with a potential value of up to $26 million to provide developmental and engineering work on the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) from NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center.
