Fujitsu to Launch World's First 320 GB 2.5" Hard Drive with AES 256-bit Encryption

Fujitsu Limited today announced the release of the MHZ2 CJ Series of 320 GB(1) 2.5" hard disk drives with automatic hardware-based encryption to effectively secure data against theft or loss, along with the industry's highest rotational speed of 7200-rpm and a 3.0 Gb/s Serial ATA interface. The new series of drives for computers and external storage devices will be available at the end of May 2008.

Magnetic phenomenon might lead to advances in hard disk technology

There are right-handed and left-handed yoghurts, right-handed and left-handed snail shells, and right-handed and (occasionally) left-handed screws. Scientists at the University of Bonn have now demonstrated the existence of right-handed and left-handed "magnetic vortices".
