I receieved an email this morning from the White House. The White House is attempting to dispute lies and misinforamtion about Health care reform. In Particuar, the White House is responding to chain mails against Health care reform with a Chain mail of their own. Here is that email:

The Health insurance industry has much to gain from Health Care reform, as do the politicians who take their money. Because of this it is no surprise to see a number of lies about health care reform pushed on the American People. We must dispel these lies, in order to have rational and intelligent discourse.

The debate in this country over health care reform has gotten out of hand. Congressmen and insurance operatives are stoking up anger and fear bytelling lies to people. People have come to believe that Obama is going to kill their grandma with his health care reform or that he is goint to impose socialism on the country.

At Senator Claire McCaskill's health care town hall yesterday, one of the video highlights on mainstream media was a women being half-dragged from the building. What wasn't show was what provoked that incident: a teabagger tearing up the woman's Rosa Parks poster.

The GOP and health insurance companies are combining to misinform the public, telling them out-and-out lies about health care reform in a bid to scare them. On Monday, the Obama administration opened a new Reality Check site, http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck/, designed to give Americans the truth about the debate.

I wrote earlier about Sarah Palin's rant about Obama and a so-called "Death Panel," which would decide who gets treatment based on their possible "level of productivity" in society. That rant was based, in part, on an op-ed by Lt. Gov. of New York, Betsy McCaughey, "Deadly Doctors."

It is the half year mark for Obama, and he’s putting all his efforts on shifting the healthcare regime. Getting the healthcare reform through Congress is going to be quite a battle, but the question remains as to whether the health of the nation is really being addressed.

On Friday, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), chairman of the Energy and Commerce committee, announced an agreement that could allow health crea reform to clear his committe. He said the agreement supplements a deal already struck Wednesday with the Blue Dog Coalition, a group of fiscally conservative Democrats on his panel.

Americans looking for affordable health insurance might want to consider a vacation in Mexico City. In a first-of-its-kind move, Mexico City will automatically cover tourists with free health insurance for emergencies.
