Holocaust remembrance day reflections

April is an interesting month of the year. Christians celebrate the happy and hopeful occasion of Easter most of the time in April. But we also commemorate the Jewish Holocaust in April as today is Holocaust remembrance day. Three days later on April 24th another similar and tragic event will be remembered as well: The Armenian Genocide. A commemoration still crying for justice, recognition and condemnation.

Neo-Nazism on the Rise Again in Young German Males

According to a study conducted throughout 2007 and 2008 by Lower Saxony's Criminal Research Institute, one in twenty West German 15-year-old males claim membership in a neo-Nazi faction – a statistically higher proportion than are involved in mainstream political parties. The proportion in formerly-communist East Germany is even higher: one in eight.

The German newspaper Bild published never-before-seen architectural plans of the Auschwitz extermination camp on Saturday that reveal, in their unequivocally marked sections, that everyone involved in the operation of Auschwitz knew full well that it was intended for the systematic extermination of human beings, the paper said.
