The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Muhammad el-Baradei, has warned that a military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities could have "catastrophic consequences" and would only encourage Iran to develop an atomic bomb.

Iran says it is still cooperating with the UN nuclear watchdog, a day after the country announced that it is barring 38 UN inspectors from working in Iran.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Husseini said today that Iran will not cut its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and stressed the country's commitment to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.
