An Arizona sheriff vowed to continue his controversial hunt for illegal immigrants today despite a decision by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to strip him of his authority to arrest suspected illegal immigrants based solely upon their immigration status. The Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he will disregard the directive of the Department of Homeland and continue to target suspected illegal immigrants as part of his "crime suppression operations."

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is proposing to save the state $180 million by cutting short the prison sentences of undocumented immigrant inmates and handing them over to federal authorities for purposes of deportation.
