This year’s contest was the most diverse and most competitive in the history of the awards, drawing a record number of 55 entries from 38 countries.

5th World Chambers Congress ends on a high note

Leaders of the global chambers of commerce community issued a statement on July 6 at the World Chambers Congress being held here, stressing the vital importance of the multilateral trading system and calling upon all governments, especially those of the biggest trading nations, to finally summon the political will to bridge their outstanding differences and make the concessions necessary for a successful deal in the Doha round of world trade negotiations.

Mr Yunus received a standing ovation at the end of the plenary session.

Day two of the 5th World Chambers Congress gave delegates a chance to hear from 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, ICC International Court of Arbitration Secretary General Anne-Marie Whitesell and four more World Chambers Competition finalists.

Ms Albright called for greater interaction between governments and business in formal settings.

This year’s 5th World Chambers Congress has a record attendance of 1,600 chamber of commerce executives and business leaders from 118 countries.
