Google is pushing the limits of speech recognition technology with the latest update to its mobile search application for the Apple iPhone device.

A study released by SquareTrade surveyed about 15,000 mobile phones and found that the Apple iPhone 3G has the lowest malfunction rate in its first year of use compared to Blackberry smartphones and Palm Treo smartphones.

While iPhone 3G sales leads the U.S. cell phone market share, overall consumer mobile phone purchases declined 15 percent year-over-year.

Meizu M8 is a gadget that had been talked about a lot even before the first generation of iPhone was launched. It's simply because of it's made to look pretty much like an iPhone and also poses a few similarities in technologies.

Now, I find this to be an awful cute dog toy (coming from someone who owns two dogs and an iPhone 3G). And who am I to deprive my dogs of a state-of-the-art dog toy such as the iBone. However, knowing Apple, it places this company right the their sights, lawsuit-wise.

On Wednesday, T-Mobile's G1 Android-based phone made its retail appearance (it was previously only available via pre-order to existing T-Mobile customers). T-Mobile opened all of its retail storefronts at 8 AM, anticipating increased demand.

It's not as bad as fears over cell phone radiation, but it seems we have a minor "irritant" for cell phone users. The British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) said on Thursday that doctors an unexplained rash on people's face, ears or cheeks might be a skin allergy caused by too much cell phone use, holding the phone to those areas.

As expected, Nokia Thursday launched the "Tube," now known as the XpressMusic 5800 (also as expected). At the Nokia Remix event in London, Nokia launched not just the "Comes With Music" service, but also unveiled their "iPhone Killer."

On Friday afternoon (after the stock market close, go figure) Apple recalled millions of iPhone 3G power adapters. The recall covers Latin America, North America and Japan. The problem: weak prongs on the adapter may break off and remain stuck in an outlet, causing a risk of shock.
