Iran Nuclear Expert Killed By Bomb Blast

Iran has already begun blaming the West for the death on Tuesday of Masoud Ali Mohammadi, a professor at Tehran University, who was a nuclear physics professor. While a nuclear expert, he was also a public backer of opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi in the contested June presidential election.

Iranian Cyber Army Hacks Twitter

Twitter was hacked overnight, with users of the site being redirected to a different web page, credited to the "Iranian Cyber Army." For a while, Twitter was down, in fact. Things seem to have returned to semblance of normalcy at the site, but a Twitter blog post indicates the issue was a DNS hack and that they are investigating.

Five British Yachters detained by Iran

Iran has picked up a racing yacht piloted by five British citizens in the Persian gulf. The yacht might have strayed unintentionally into Iranian waters. The crew members are still being held by Iran and are said to be "in good condition."

The U.S. has moved to seize assets of the Alavi Foundation, which purports to be "a private not-for-profit organization devoted to the promotion and support of Islamic culture and Persian language, literature and civilization." British Museum To Loan Cyrus Cylinder To Iran

The Cyrus cylinder is perhaps the world's oldest charter of human rights, 539-530 B.C. artifact dating back to the reign of Cyrus the Great, is inscribed in Babylonian cuneiform. Iran's Hamid Baqaei - vice president in charge of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization - is asking the British Museum for a loan of the Cylinder.
