President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are on their way to Fort Hood, the U.S.'s largest military base, for an afternoon service today. Fort Hood's Soldier Readiness Center was the scene of a massacre last Thursday, as Major Nadil Malik Hasan appeared to stage a one-man war against the military.

The personal Web site for Anwar al Awlaki, a radical American imam, who had contact with two of the Sept. 11 hijackers lauds alleged Fort Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan as a hero. Anwar al Awlaki was a spiritual leader at two mosques where three of the Sept. 11 hijackers worshipped.

As the Muslim community reels over the Fort Hood shootings committed by Major Nadil Malik Hasan, a devout Muslim, news emerges over a Kent, Conn. 9-11 memorial which has been derailed. The reason is that the father of the victim insists the memorial says his son was murdered by "Muslim terrorists."

In the wake of the Fort Hood tragedy, in which Major Nidal Malik Hasan shot and killed 13 and wounded 30, Muslims around the U.S. brace for fallout. With his cry of 'Allahu Akbar,' which means "God is Great" in Arabic, Hasan set the stage for possible retribution against Muslims in the U.S.

There was a time when parents tried to teach their kids acceptance. Gainesville, FL high school students have been sent home over the last few days for wearing t-shirts with the phrase “Islam is of the Devil” on teh back. The children wearing the shirts belong to the Dove World Outreach Center, an evangelical “New Testament Church.”

Violence erupted today during a protest of a law passed last month in Afghanistan that has several affects, one of which is regulating when and why a wife may leave her home alone. But the more controversial portion of the law, which many say constitutes marital rape, states that a husband can demand sex with his wife every four days unless she is ill or would be harmed by intercourse.

Taliban gunmen in the remote district of Khash Rod in southern Afghanistan executed a young couple for trying to elope, Hashim Noorzai, head of Khash Rud district of Nimroz province said Tuesday.

Hundreds of thousands of Muslim pilgrims are performing the ritual "stoning of the Devil," Monday, at Muzdalifa, outside of Mecca, in one of the high points of the annual Hajj. Pilgrims will also sacrifice a lamb to mark the day Muslims call Eid al- Adha, or "Feast of the Sacrifice."
