Sharp Corporation and Toshiba Corporation announced today that the two companies have agreed to collaborate closely in LCDs, a move that is expected to enhance the companies' corporate value, profitability and global competitiveness.

Sharp Corporation held an opening ceremony on October 15 for a second plant newly built inside the compound of Sharp Electrónica Mexico S.A. de C.V. (SEMEX), Sharp's production base in Mexico for LCD modules and LCD TVs destined for the North American market.

Kobierzyce, Poland--Toshiba Corporation today celebrated the official opening of Toshiba Television Central Europe Sp. zo. o. (TTCE), a new production and sales company for LCD TVs in Kobierzyce, southwest Poland. Toshiba executives were joined for the opening ceremony and a reception by representatives of the national and local government and other guests.
