This summer, from 30 May to 31 August 2008, Tate Liverpool will present a full-scale reconstruction of The Beethoven Frieze (1901-2 / 1984) a monumental installation by Gustav Klimt. The Frieze is a major highlight of Gustav Klimt: Painting, Design and Modern Life in Vienna 1900, the first comprehensive exhibition of Klimt's work ever staged in the UK and a key event in Liverpool's programme for European Capital of Culture 2008.

New York based company Decadancetheatre bring their unique hip-hop ballet Firebird to the Playhouse, a stunning fusion of urban dance moves with classical ballet based on Igor Stravinsky's ballet of 1910. Presented as part of LEAP 08, Merseyside Dance Initiative's annual dance festival, Firebird runs from Thursday 13 to Friday 14 March at the Playhouse.
