Seattle Symphony Presents Beethoven's Missa Solemnis

Beethoven's masterpiece returns to Benaroya Hall under the direction of Gerard Schwarz for three performances on Thursday, April 5, at 7:30pm; Friday, April 6, at 8pm; and Saturday, April 7, at 8pm. Seattle Symphony Orchestra and the Seattle Symphony Chorale will be joined on stage by premiere vocalists, including soprano Marina Mescheriakova, mezzo-soprano Robynne Redmon, tenor Marcus Haddock and baritone Clayton Brainerd. Previously announced Vinson Cole will not perform.

West Australian Symphony Perform Beethoven

In the first of three concerts (Saturday 24 March, 8pm) in the intimate setting of the Art Gallery of WA, West Australian Symphony Orchestra presents an evening of music by Beethoven, Bartok and Mills, directed by concertmaster John Harding. New Jersey Symphony Presents Beethoven The Hero

Three performances by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in March will underscore musical development and change from the classical to the contemporary, and will also introduce the young Latvian violinist, Baiba Skride, to audiences across the state. Under the baton of Neeme Järvi, the concerts begin with A.S. In Memoriam by Swedish composer Rolf Martinsson, a work in which the composer states he has "sought to mirror the vocabulary, gesture and musical characters present in the works of Arnold Schoenberg."

Following his performance of Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 with Seattle Symphony, Philippe Entremont will grace the stage of Benaroya Hall once again on Sunday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m. in recital. With a program featuring Beethoven's Piano Trio in D major, the "Ghost Trio," Entremont will also perform Brahms' Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 1 in G major and Franck's Quintet for Piano and Strings in F minor.
