Chicago Marathon 2009 Winners Cross The Finish Line

The Chicago Marathon 2009, sponsored by Bank of America, got under way this morning at 7:30am with runners from 100 countries. The winners are crossing the finish line after a very cold start this morning. Sammy Wanjiru the winner of the 2008 Olympic gold medal in the Marathon, won the men's race in the 2009 Bank of American Chicago Marathon.

Hartford Marathon 2009 Winners Cross Finish Line

The 16th annual ING Hartford Marathon 2009 is underway in Bushnell Park. Runners are already starting to cross the finish line, including winner Patrick Moulton of Rhode Island. Moulton, who won $6,000, finished in 2 hours, 25 minutes, 21 seconds in the 26.2 mile Hartford Marathon today.

Baltimore Marathon 2009 Winners Race to Finish Line

The Baltimore Marathon 2009 is underway this morning and there will be winners streaming in to the finish line throughout the day. Also known as The Baltimore Running Festival, there are an estimated 20,000 people running through the streets of Baltimore today with crowds cheering them on. Runners from 44 countries and every state will run, including five Olympians.

Twin Cities Marathon Winners Race to Finish Line

The Twin Cities Marathon 2009 got underway just after sunrise Sunday morning with the help of over 5,000 volunteers who coordinated the event. Racing to the finish line this year include the oldest runner Lloyd Young, 86 and the youngest marathon runner, Olivia Verhoye, 14. Thirty-one percent of the entrants are running their first marathon. There are runners from every state and 21 countries.

Akron Marathon Road Runner 2009 Final Results

This year's Road Runner Akron Marathon in Akron, OH was held today with 10,000 runners participating in the event. This was an 87 percent rise in registration since last year.

Real Berlin Marathon 2009 Results: Haile Gebrselassie Is The Winner

Kiawah island marathon starts registration

Four years ago I spend a short vacation in Kiawah Island. It is a wonderful island near Charleston, SC. However, I never knew Kiaway Island had a marathon. Now, this morning Kiawah Island Marathon started registration for the 32th annual Kiawah Island Golf Resort marathon, which will run on December 12th, 2009.

El Boumili Is San Diego's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon 2009 Winner

San Diego marathon was just concluded and we have a winner. Khalid El Boumlili of Morocco, who dropped out of the LA Marathon on Monday at mile 18 due to hamstring problems, came back today to San Diego and became the winner of the 2009 Rock 'n' Roll Marathon. Yuliya Gromova of Russia, the defending women's champion, won her second straight San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Marathon with a personal best of 2:27:36.

Cleveland Marathon 2009 Sees Record Number Of Runners

It just goes to show that length isn't everything. The SF Bay to Breakers was the top attraction among racing observers on Sunday, but there was a marathon run in the U.S. as well, the Rite-Aid Cleveland Marathon. Injured Soldier Completes London Marathon In 13 Days

For most participants the London Marathon started and finished on Sunday April 26th. Major Phil Packer started with everybody else on April 26th, but didn't finish the 26.2 mile course until Saturday May 9th, 13 days later.
