Minnesota Orchestra Performs Live Score Compiled From Shostakovich Works

The Minnesota Orchestra continues its three-week film music series with a screening of the Russian silent movie The Battleship Potemkin (1925)—labeled “one of the fundamental landmarks of cinema” by film critic Roger Ebert—with the Orchestra performing a live score compiled from works by Shostakovich. Finnish conductor Esa Heikkilä makes his first Minnesota Orchestra appearance leading the performance.
