South Korea reported on Saturday that North Korea fired seven ballistic missiles off its eastern coast. The launches are a violation of U.N. resolutions and come on Fourth of July in the United States, perhaps serving as a message.

One day after a nuclear test that drew global criticism, North Korea on Tuesday test-fired two short-range missiles, upping its rhetoric and leading many to ask "what does North Korea really want?" North Korea is testing not only missiles, but also the patience of the international community.

Despite warnings from the U.S., South Korea, Japan, and many other nations, North Korea carried out a provocative rocket launch on Sunday that it said was a satellite launch, but that others feel are a cover for long-range missile testing. According to CNN "North Korea's satellite did not make it to orbit, the North American Aerospace Defense Command says."
