It’s been known for some times that AT&T has started offering mobile TV for the United States. They have just announced a new LG handset, the LG Invision, which is to offer mobile TV on the AT&T network.

LG Electronics (LG) and Samsung Electronics (Samsung), which together lead the global digital TV market, announced today that they will propose their jointly developed technology as the North American technology standard for mobile DTV.

Alcatel-Lucent will demonstrate its leadership in Triple Play and Mobile TV solutions at the upcoming IBC 2007 event in Amsterdam from September 6-11, 2007. The Alcatel-Lucent booth (hall 12P, stand 139) will feature Unlimited Mobile TV, with a demonstration of broadcast Mobile TV in UHF and S-Band spanning DVB-H and DVB-SH – in combination with 3G - and Interactive TV, with a demonstration of Participation TV and “red button interactivity” on IPTV.

On the occasion of IBC, Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) and Samsung Electronics (Seoul KSE: 005930 and London GDR: SMSN) announced that they are demonstrating live broadcast mobile TV in S-Band using a Samsung handset. This demonstration is taking place on the Alcatel-Lucent booth (Hall 12P, Booth 139).

Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, announced that its Atlas™ mobile transmitter, featuring the Apex™ FLO™ exciter, is being used in QUALCOMM Incorporated's MediaFLO™ mobile TV trials in Taiwan. The trials, being conducted by China Network Systems (CNS) and Taiwan Television Enterprise Ltd., (TTV), began this past spring and are expected to continue through the summer.

Future Waves and SunplusMM plan to launch a MP3 player which supports DAB, FM and plug-in mobile TV (T-DMB) this summer.

To encourage greater adoption of broadcast mobile TV services and accelerate service deployment, Samsung and Nokia today announced they will work to achieve interoperability among their DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcast - Handheld) enabled mobile devices and the open standards based Nokia network services system.
