Kyle Busch Wins Final Sharpie 500 Race at Bristol

Kyle Busch is not a stranger to Victory Lane at Bristol Motor Speedway. He visited it again Saturday night by winning the final Sharpie 500 race at Bristol by holding off pole sitter Mark Martin. The victory also ended months of frustration Busch has had in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Ragan Passes Teammate for Win in Food City 250

Roush Fenway Racing driver David Ragan passed his teammate Carl Edwards for his second NASCAR Nationwide Series win of his career at the Bristol Motor Speedway’s Food City 250. It was also his second of the season, with his first coming at Talladega in April.

Newman Crashes Early in Modified Race

Starting with tonight’s Whelen Modified Tour UNOH Perfect Storm 150 race, Sprint Cup driver Ryan Newman began his quest of completely every lap raced during this week’s races at Bristol Motor Speedway. Hornaday Goes For Sixth Straight Win At Bristol

At the last Camping World Truck Series race in Nashville, Ron Hornaday set a record for the series and joined two other NASCAR legends Richard Petty and Bobby Allison for five straight victories which they each did in 1971. Petty holds the record with ten straight wins in the 1967 season. Tonight at Bristol Motor Speedway, Hornaday will go for his sixth straight win.

Suspended NASCAR Driver Jeremy Mayfield's Stepmother Arrested

This certainly casts some doubt on the veracity of this witness, although it does nothing to erase to multiple positive drug test results. The stepmother of Jeremy Mayfield and a witness for NASCAR in defending its suspension of the Sprint Cup driver, was arrested Saturday night after an incident at his Catawba County house. Lowes Racing Marks Coca Cola 600 Anniversary

Lowes racing is one of my favorite races of the year. It is the longest race distance wise and it comes on the heels of the Indy 500 in the afternoon. A couple years ago drivers such as Tony Stewart and Robby Gordon used to attempt to race both the Indy 500 in the afternoon and then fly to Charlotte to race the Coca Cola 600. A total of 1100 miles in the day. For me this race kicks off summer. It's Memorial Day weekend and it's time to go racing.
