Earlier this week, Natalie Cole (pictured), daughter of jazz legend Nat King Cole and herself a great singer, received a life-saving kidney transplant. What wasn't as widely publicized, however, was the death of her sister, Carol "Cookie" Cole.

Songstress Natalie Cole, 59, underwent kidney transplant surgery on Wednesday, as noted in a statement by her publicist. Cole was set to being a summer tour on June 5th, but will postpone it.
