MAD HOT II, The National Ballet of Canada’s annual fundraising gala, returns on June 17, 2008 to Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. The National Post hailed last year’s MAD HOT as “the best gala” and The Globe and Mail named it the “best fundraising event” of 2007.

The National Ballet of Canada’s summer mixed programme opens on June 13 and includes Alberta Ballet’s The Fiddle and The Drum, presented at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts as part of Toronto's second annual Luminato – Toronto Festival of Arts & Creativity. Also on the programme are the second detail & Etudes & Five Brahms Waltzes in the Manner of Isadora Duncan.

Principal Dancer Nehemiah Kish will perform at Sadler's Wells Sampled in London, England with Royal Ballet Principal Dancer Alina Cojocaru on January 26 & 27. Mr. Kish and Ms. Cojocaru will perform Christopher Wheeldon's Prokofiev Pas de Deux, which was created on Mr. Kish by Mr. Wheeldon and made its North American premiere October 2007 in New York City.

Principal Dancer Guillaume Côté was awarded a Gemini for Best Performance in a Performing Arts Program or Series for his role in the documentary Moving To His Music: The Two Muses of Guillaume Côté. The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announced the Gemini Award last night at the Drama, Variety and Comedy Gala in Regina.

TD Waterhouse and The National Ballet of Canada partner to bring the art of classical dance to young Canadians across western Canada through an innovative education outreach programme. This unique two-part programme encourages children to develop their imaginations, enhance their creativity and explore expression through movement.

The National Ballet of Canada brings Giselle, with Polyphonia, to six cities in western Canada from September 10 to 29, 2007. The company travels to Saskatoon (September 10-11), Calgary (September 13-15), Edmonton (September 18-19), Victoria (September 21-22), Nanaimo (September 24) and Vancouver (September 26-29).
