NBA basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar revealed today that he has Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia. Abdul-Jabbar was diagnosed in December 2008 and currently undergoing treatment for this rare form of leukemia.

Magic Johnson has a new book coming out When the Game was Ours, and former teammate Isiah Thomas is not happy with what's in Johnson's book. Isiah Thomas told SI.com that he is "really hurt" over criticisms levied by Magic Johnson in a new book chronicling the careers of Johnson and Larry Bird. References to Thomas appear on at least 26 pages of the book, which Johnson and Bird wrote with author Jackie MacMullan.

NBA Star Delonte West Arrested On Gun Charges

NBA star and Cleveland Cavalier guard Delonte West was arrested on Thursday on gun possession charges. Delonte West was arrested after officers stopped him for speeding on I-95 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland and found him to be in possession of three loaded firearms, including two handguns and a shotgun which was stored inside a guitar case that was strapped to his back like he was El Mariachi.

NBA Draft Lottery 2009 Results

In an effort to prevent teams from "tanking" games to get a better position in the NBA draft, the NBA introduced a lottery system in 1985. The lottery uses ping pong balls with a weighting system such that the 250 worst team has a 25.0% chance of receiving the #1 pick. This still leads to tanking, some say. The NBA draft lottery 2009 was held on Tuesday night and the results are already out.
