NEC Ranked No. 1 in 2006 Enterprise Telephony Equipment Worldwide Market Share

For the second year in a row, NEC Corporation (NEC) has been ranked first in worldwide enterprise telephony equipment market share by Gartner. According to the firm's July report titled "Market Share: Enterprise Telephony Equipment, Worldwide, 2006," authored by Megan Fernandez and Isabel Montero, NEC is ranked first in global extension line shipments with 12 percent market share.

NEC Licenses its Digital Microwave Radio Patents to Microwave Networks, Inc.

NEC Corporation has licensed its U.S. digital microwave radio patents and counterpart patents covering fundamental telecommunication techniques such as quadrature amplitude modulation to the American DMR manufacturer Microwave Networks , Inc. NEC and MNI also made a cross- agreement not to assert their DMR patents in the future.
