It's here. Netflix on Tuesday announced that streaming for members to their PS3 video game consoles has arrived.

Starting in November 2009, Sony PlayStation 3 owners will be able to stream movies and TV shows from Netflix on their gaming consoles for free. Netflix will require that users have a minimal Netflix membership that costs over $8.99 per month in order to stream the free movies onto the PS3.

That the expansion of Netflix was inevitable no one doubted, but that Netflix would would go acquiring content license few people would think. Now Neflix is going to be a major online movie distributor. Is this the end of the era of Blockbuster? This move will probably cause serious trouble to Redbox too.
