The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra has joined with 12 other orchestras nationwide to form the Sphinx Commissioning Consortium (SCC), a new initiative with a goal of highlighting Black and Latino composers and encouraging diversity in classical music. The Sphinx Organization, the national nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing Black and Latino participation in professional and educational music endeavors, will administer the new initiative.
