Music Director Neeme Järvi displays his astonishing conducting skill in a performance of musical grandeur as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents Symphony No. 2, “Resurrection.” This monumental work, considered by many to be Gustav Mahler’s greatest, is one that profoundly expresses the composer’s faith and spirituality.

Opera New Jersey, New Jersey’s premier opera company, will launch its 2008 season with concert-staged performances of Verdi’s Rigoletto at three different renowned venues in New Jersey in February. The performances will be held on February 1 at Community Theatre at Mayo Center for the Performing Arts (Morristown), February 8 at the McCarter Theatre Center (Princeton) and February 10 at the State Theatre (New Brunswick).

The State Theatre celebrates Veteran's Day with America's Hits on Parade, a production of classic songs that topped the charts during the World War II era, featuring The Pied Pipers and The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 3pm. Tickets range from $35-55.

Douglas Clark, tenor, is the featured soloist with the Monmouth Civic Chorus in LisztFest, celebrating the life and music of the Romantic genius Franz Liszt. A resident of Tinton Falls, Clark has been a Chorus member and soloist since 1987, and is also a member and soloist with the New Jersey Chamber Singers.

Youthful exuberance is highlighted when the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's 2007 Young Artists Auditions winner, Brittany Sklar, takes center stage performing Brahms’s Violin Concerto. Internationally acclaimed Music Director Neeme Järvi conducts Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite, a collection of children’s fairy tales brilliantly set for an orchestra by a master musical storyteller.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents an evening of Eastern European and Russian music with Dvořák’s Violin Concerto and Rachmaninoff’s Second Symphony. Conductor Kwamé Ryan, making his debut with the NJSO, takes the podium for these beloved pieces. The exciting young violinist Karen Gomyo opens the evening’s bill with Dvořák’s masterful Violin Concerto.

Just in time f or Thanksgiving, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra offers a sumptuous f east of some of the greatest works of yesteryear and today. In an unusual programming juxtaposition, Beethoven’s Fidelio Overture, as well as his earlier incarnations of an overture f or the same opera, entitled Leonore Overtures Nos. 1, 2, 3, comes to life under the baton of NJSO Music Director Neeme Järvi.

The State Theatre and AM Productions present the Emmy Award-winning world music and dance stage production, BENISE: Nights of Fire! for one night only on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 8pm. Backed by a stage full of musicians and elaborately choreographed dancers, Nights of Fire! captures world music with a show that appeals to people of all ages, cultures, and musical backgrounds.
