Norway Eases Diplomatic Boycott of Palestinian Authority

A senior Norwegian official has met with the leader of the ruling Palestinian militant group Hamas, easing a diplomatic boycott. The meeting followed the formation of a Palestinian national unity government, and as Hamas launched its first attack against Israel since a cease-fire went into effect four months ago in the Gaza Strip. CSC Signs $80 Million IT Services Contract with Vital

Computer Sciences Corporation announced today that it has renewed its information technology (IT) services agreement with Vital Forsikring, Norway's largest privately owned life and pension insurance company. CSC estimates the value of the contract, which has a five-year base period and three one-year options, to be approximately $80 million (500 million NOK), if all options are exercised.

Turnkey Solution For Driver's License Program In Norway

Gemalto, a world leader in digital security, announces that it will provide its highly secure polycarbonate cards, based on Setec technology, for driver's licenses in Norway. The agreement with the Norwegian authorities calls for the supply and personalization of the cards and direct mailing to the end-user. The four-year contract will come into force on January 1, 2007 and includes an option for two additional years. Norway currently issues approximately 250,000 driver's licenses per year.
