The ING New York City Marathon 2009 is one of the world's greatest marathon with almost 42,000 runners heading to the finish line. As winners cross the finish line, the results are important to friends, family and co-workers of the dedicated runners of the New York Marathon 2009.

The ING New York City Marathon 2009 starts at 8:20am in Central Park. In order to alleviate congestion there will be three wave starts at the NYC Marathon 2009. Instead of releasing close to 42,000 marathon runners at the same time, each wave will release approximately 14,000 marathon runners in 20-minute increments.

The ING New York City Marathon is not the most famous: arguably the Boston Marathon holds that "title." But it's still huge, drawing more than two million spectators, over 38,000 runners, 120 live bands and assorted oddball acts. It's the NYC Marathon 2008.
